Our vision

To be the leading provider of homes in Essex.

Our purpose

To provide more homes for people unable to rent or buy privately.

Our values

  • Committed to achieving our purpose;
  • Sharing responsibility for future success;
  • Being fair, open and honest;
  • Recognising the value of people.

About our Organisation

We are a locally managed and governed charitable housing association based in Chelmsford, Essex and were recently named one of the top 25 housing associations to work for on the Sunday Times ‘Best Not-For-Profit Organisations’ list.

Established in March 2002, we have two main aims – to provide excellent services and to increase the supply of affordable homes to those in need.

As one of approximately 2,000 housing associations in the UK, we own over 9,000 properties in Essex and private high-quality affordable homes to rent and buy.

Whether tackling antisocial behaviour to improve residents’ quality of life, providing support for older people or developing affordable properties, we work closely with residents, local authorities, private sector companies, other charitable agencies and public sector bodies to constantly improve the services we provide.

Named by Inside Housing as a top 40 developing housing association, and having achieved top ratings for financial viability and governance from the Regulator of Social Housing, we are looking to recruit exceptional people who are committed to our vision, purpose and values to help us become the leading provider of affordable housing in Essex.

Our Local Area

Awarded city status in 2012, Chelmsford is the country’s newest city – it is also the county town of Essex – and is situated (approximately) 40 miles from London.

While Chelmsford has been known as the home for Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company, Hoffman Ball Bearings and Britvic over the years, it is still the home of Essex County Cricket Club. Situated next to the A12, residents can commute to London either by road or train and arrive in the city in approximately 40 minutes.

Now offering a bustling city centre, Chelmsford residents can relax and socialise in one of its many parks and green spaces or visit the attractive villages in the surrounding countryside.
